Here’s something a bit different, but clever all the same.
Keep reading to find out how a lousy twenty bucks can get you over five thousand dollars worth of marketing goodies,
plus a hot CD from a true Aussie rock and roll legend.
Let me explain.
What you are going to see today is effectively a Marketing lesson from Armand Morin that a good mate of many of
us is running with today.
You see Armand Morin loves his music, so much so that he recorded his own Country Music album. He then used
Internet Marketing JV’s to get it to the top of the album sales on Amazon in a very short period of time.
Johnnie Mac is a local artist with a very cool acoustic type sound. He’s been featured on JJJ amongst other places.
He’s basically taking the lesson learned from Armand and is applying it today.
This guy made an impact on me. Made an impact on several of my marketing friends as well. That’s why we’ve all got
together to help this guy get his new album to #1 on Amazon by giving away a stack of really cool gifts.
So what’s this got to do with you? Heaps! You could be part of history in the making
Never one to do things “by the book”, Johnnie is launching his album online today with the aim of selling 1000 copies by midnight. This will rocket the album up the international charts and prove that an unsigned, self-promoted singer can be successful without a major record deal. What a great Aussie success story.
If you grab Johnnie’s new album today, you will get a classic Aussie album PLUS a load of amazing free gifts from some of
the worlds leading success, business and prosperity experts valued at over $5000.
Not only that, a FULL 25% of the proceeds will go to helping the environment. And if I know Johnnie, that means planting
more trees!
Music by night and by day – this guy has spent the last 15 years planting thousands of trees with his own two hands;
transforming once baron landscapes into lush tropical forests.
Here’s what you do.
Go to http://www.johnniemac.com/album-launch , grab Johnnie’s CD, then you’re instantly entitled to receive $5000
worth of FREE gifts.
But hang on, if you buy 2 CD’s, then you get all the free gifts plus you also go in the draw to WIN the extra special prize as
well which includes a $13,500 share trading coaching package from Aussie Rob and a visit from Johnnie who will come out
to your next party to perform FREE!

The Worst Internet Marketing Niche
by Greg on Oct.14, 2009, under Uncategorized
All Internet Marketers are forever on the search of that Amazing Niche or Niches that will be their golden goose.
But what if we focus for a second on the worst Internet Marketing Niche.
I was speaking at an Internet Marketing Conference recently and after I came off stage I was answering questions from the seminar participants and I received a question which I didn’t know whether it was a joke or not.
The question was about why they just couldn’t seem to get any momentum with their online Biz. When I asked what niche are they in they said “We provide solutions for procrastinators who don’t know that they are procrastinators but who really need to solve their procrastination problem”.
Ouch – I didn’t know what to say initially to that as it is wrong on so many levels.
Firstly – how do you target those people? It is unlikely that procrastinators (people who constantly delay and put off any action) are likely to have got around to putting together any kind of forum or support group on procrastination.
Secondly – If they are procrastinators that you are targeting, what is the likely hood of them ever getting motivated enough to buy your product or service even if they do find it?
And Thirdly – If they are procrastinators who don’t know they are procrastinators but need your solution it is extremely unlikely that they will be wanting and searching for a solution to the problem in the first place.
With a niche we really want a passionate motivated crowd who have money to spend and are actively searching for answers but not finding many valid results. So as you see this procrastinators niche does not meet that criteria.
What made the situation worse was that the people asking the question were procrastinators themselves and that is part of the reason why they were struggling to get any momentum.
Obviously, my apologies if you are reading this blog and you were the one who asked the question – although I congratulate you on getting around to reading it.
Any other shocking Niches you can think of?
The 4 most important financial indicators in your business
by Greg on Oct.13, 2009, under Uncategorized
One of the things I realised recently from working with so many small to medium sized businesses is that a lot of them are not actively watching and managing their businesses financials.
The Maths or Mathematics of an Internet Business is often overlooked or not given enough focus. The reality is that we can’t manage what we don’t measure.
Early on in my marketing business I was guilty of going for long periods of time without actively knowing the maths of what was going on. Here is what I now measure and manage across my businesses:
- Whats coming in (per week, per month etc)
- Whats going out (per week, per month etc)
- Costs per transaction
- Revenue per transaction &
- Profit per transaction
By knowing this info I am now able to trim costs and increase profits across the board.
Something more advanced that I learned from T Harv Eker and that I now focus on with my accountant quarterly is the following:
Hereʼs what the Rich Know that the Poor Donʼt – The 4 most important financial indicators in your business
- Increase in Revenue
- Decrease Expenses
- Increase in Profit
- Increase in Cash flow (money coming in before it goes out)
Those indicators are a gem. Please feel free to leverage this and start implementing monitoring and managing them in your business.
Why Tracking and Split Testing is Crucial… but nearly no one does it
by Greg on Sep.18, 2009, under Uncategorized
For years I was a novice online. I’d put something up and just ‘wing it’ and ‘see how it goes’ and often be disappointed with the results. I never really knew what was going on with my sites nor how to bump up the response rates. When I think about it, actually I did know what I needed to do, but wasn’t willing to do it at the time for what ever reason. Most internet marketers would be able to relate to that I’m sure.
Sometimes to know and not to do is not to know.
I now track, measure and split test everything and I believe you should to. Here’s why. Small improvements to your conversion rate can have massive effect on your bottom line because they multiply your result.
Say you are getting 1000 visitors to your site a month and you have a 1% conversion rate for your $97 product. That means every month you are making 10 sales a month, or $970 per month in sales.
What about now if you setup 2 copies of your sales page and use Google Website Optimizer to rotate automatically between the two of them. You will need to change one of them to have a different headline or different offer or format etc. You tell Google Website Optimizer what the ‘success’ page is, normally your thank you page, and you are off and running.
Say a week or so goes by and now you can see that the new page is converting at 1.6% and Optimizer declares it the winner. You now make that page the control and create a second copy of it and make some changes to the second page. If you keep repeating this cycle and testing and measuring you can’t help but bump up your conversion rate. If you repeat this several times for our example lets say that your conversion rate is now at 3.5%. This now means that for every 1000 site visitors you get you are making 35 sales a month compared to your initial 10. The flow on effect from this is that your sales revenue has risen to $3395.oo per month.
This is massive because your advertising costs or traffic haven’t changed but your profitability has dramatically.
If you now make other complementary offers to your list of buyers this will magnify or compound your result because you have a larger list of customers to market to.
This out performing the control when split testing also works beautifully with bumping up your opt-in list conversions on your site. We have had examples recently of increasing clients opt-in conversions up by as much as 14.5% on what they were originally. You can imagine what effect that has on the speed with which the list is built.
So why does so few Internet Marketers do split testing like this? I think it’s either because they don’t know how to do it or it just doesn’t make it high enough on their list of priorities to do it. It’s not sexy and exciting like driving traffic.
What’s interesting is that only a small percentage of Internet Marketers make any real money – are these the ones doing the split testing? There’s food for thought… but I think you know the answer.

Amazing Video – Never Give up Never Quit…
by Greg on Aug.19, 2009, under Uncategorized
This is an amazing youtube video. It shows that sometimes we think things in our lives are hard and just aren’t fair, but maybe we need to be thankful more for what we do have.
This also shows the power of never giving up, never quitting and you will get there in the end.
I’ve got to warn you it’s a bit of a tear jerker.

Affiliate Google Slap
by Greg on Jul.27, 2009, under Uncategorized
In the last week I was Google Slapped for the first time in my many years as a pay per click marketer. I now know how it feels and I must admit I don’t like it. But… It happened for a reason.
Google made some major changes to their search algorithm so that anyone who had a landing page that’s primary purpose was to promote an affiliate link had their Google Quality Score go from high numbers down to a 1 meaning that the page is not worthy of showing on the google search or content networks.
Effectively for affiliate marketers using Pay Per Click the main options now are either Yahoo Search Marketing or Microsoft AdCenter in the short term (although I believe they will follow suit over time), or to build a long term strategic affiliate marketing business. By this I mean strategies such as niche specific blogs and creating new relevant content and doing list building so that you can market to that list again and again.
So effectively the very easy days of Affiliate Marketing are effectively over. Affiliate marketing is not dead, but what it does mean is that affiliates need to approach it long term strategically, not just do ‘the google cash method to your own landing page’ like what I was doing successfully until the last week.
While this sucks for affiliate marketers like me and many of you, I think Google has actually done the right thing in terms of their own mantra of ‘relevancy’ and ‘experience of the searcher’. By having less clutter of 10 people promoting the same product with different URL’s the reality is that many other genuine products and services will now be able to rise to the front page. This will ultimately give a better user experience.
What this means for the CPA business (Cost Per Aquisition) is yet to be seen. Most of CPA marketing was about using Adwords to drive traffic to free trial type offers using affiliate links. The CPA business just got a big slap in the face too, but like anything the experienced players with the big lists in the right niches will be fine and the little guy will have to say ‘Next’ and move on to find another opportunity or make a decision to build a long term strategic business.
