Digital Marketing Summit – how to get 2 for 1 tickets

Have you seen the Digital Marketing Summit Event Yet? It’s coming up in November and right now there’s a 2 for 1 ticket offer on.

Speaking of events… I was just thinking yesterday about the first big event that I can remember going to. I was still working a day job but I was starting to get good online. This was back in the early days of Web 2.0 when blogging and podcasting was just getting started.

I organised a consult with Mal Emery to talk to him about my business. The consult didn’t go well because he told me that ‘my baby was ugly’ meaning that the business model I had was pretty ordinary. It hurt to hear it at the time, but I realised he was right.

The other thing that came out of the consult was he’d never come across this podcasting before and he asked me would I speak about it at his next event. I said ‘yeah sure that won’t be a problem’, only to later think ‘what the f$%k have I done’ as I’d never been to a big marketing event or spoken in front of a big crowd before.

I didn’t really have the cash to get flights and accommodation, but I put it on credit card and booked into a cheap and nasty hostel to make it happen. I knew I had to get out of the day job and the only way of doing it was to invest in myself, even if I couldn’t really afford it at the time.

At the event I was soaking up every bit of marketing knowledge that I could, but in the back of my mind I was thinking ‘sh#t, i’m up next’.

Following the advice of my maltese grandfather (Nunnu) who prescribed the same medicine for every ailment, I snuck into the bathroom and cracked open a hipflask of Scotch Whiskey and had two big sculls and then went out and delivered the finest podcasting presentation this country had ever seen (it was only the finest because it was the first this country had ever seen).

So the whiskey helped to calm the nerves and the presentation was a wild success. But most importantly from that point onwards I was a ‘student of marketing’ and knew that I had to put myself in the right places to immerse myself in it and live it and breath it.

As it turns out, even though I couldn’t afford it, it was one of the best investments of my life. It’s funny how the universe finds a way of putting things in your path that you need, if you’re open to them.

Anyway, a long story short – as you may well know, I ended up running a marketing agency and then quitting the day job. The rest is history. I started Internet Marketing Magazine and now 6 years later I’ve quit the agency as I don’t need the money from it anymore. I’m loving eCommerce and being a coach to help others achieve their dreams and create the kind of lifestyle with which I’m now blessed.

But I know it wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t taken the chance and invested in my knowledge. Without that knowledge, I wouldn’t have known how to move forward and more importantly, move forward in the right direction.

I want you to achieve the same. So if you’re interested in creating a better lifestyle and figuring out how to make money doing something you love, then come join us at the upcoming Annual Digital Marketing Summit Event in November.

If you’re happy with where you are right now and are 100% up to date with the very latest of what’s working in digital marketing right now, then this event may not for you.

Currently, there’s a 2 for 1 ticket price offer still available, but it expires in less than 24 hours.

You can find out all the details here: Digital Marketing Summit

As I’ll be one of the 9 speakers, I look forward to seeing you there.

And this time, there’ll be no shots of whiskey.

Cheers

Greg
